The mysterious world of Ancient China

The history of Ancient China stretches back thousands of years. A particularly significant period in Chinese history was the reign of the first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. The exhibition entitled The Civilization of the Qin and Han Dynasties – The First Chinese Emperor’s Terracotta Warriors is mainly focused on this era, but also allows the visitors to learn more about another remarkable period, the Han Dynasty, to which we owe, for instance, the expansion of the Silk Road.

One of the world's most noteworthy archaeological discoveries took place in the 20th century, when thousands of terracotta soldiers protecting the emperor's tomb were unearthed. However, as we wander through the exhibition rooms, we not only learn about the legacy of the first Chinese emperor, but also get a glimpse into the customs, religion and everyday life of more than half a millennium of Chinese history.
